Everything happens in the app: five steps, from your email address to a live menu on the number your customers already call, or on a new one.

Five steps in the app

  1. Sign up with your email address, your business name and your country (United States or Canada).
  2. Sign in with the link we email you. There is no password to set.
  3. Keep your number: the first question is "Which number do your customers call today?" Enter it and an instant check runs; the form then asks only what that number needs (see bringing your existing number). Or get a new number, the other choice: a local number searched by area code, optionally with digits or letters you want in it, or a toll-free number. Availability varies by area code, and big-city codes are often out of stock, so have a second choice in mind.
  4. Build the menu: the greeting, up to seven options (each rings up to three phones in turn, takes a voicemail, or plays a message and hangs up), or a line with no menu at all, your business hours and closed message, the menu languages (English, French, Spanish), and who receives voicemail emails.
  5. Check out: $29 a month through Stripe, by card or the other methods shown at checkout. A new number is bought and your menu goes live as soon as payment completes. For a number you are bringing, the card is saved and nothing is charged until the number has moved; the menu goes live on it the day the transfer completes.

Hear it first: call (510) 288-6288 · (510) AUTO-ATT, our own line, which runs on Auto Attendant.

Nobody else on your team needs an account, an app or a password. Each person is just a phone number on a menu option, and you change it from the dashboard.

What it costs

$29 a month in US dollars per line, for the whole company, not per person, with no contract and no notice period. Taxes are not included; whether sales tax is added is confirmed before the first charge. There is no free trial on a new number. Everything on the pricing page is included; there is no setup tier and no per-seat add-on.

You pay online at the end of setup, and a new number goes live as soon as payment completes. A number you bring with you is not charged until it has moved. See how billing works.

Bringing your existing number

Porting is the default path in the app. What the form asks depends on the number:

  • US landline or internet (VoIP) number: the name on the account, your name and email, the account number, the billing address, and a recent bill (a PDF or a photo).
  • US mobile number: the same, plus the transfer PIN from the carrier.
  • Toll-free and Canadian numbers: only who holds the account. Our team moves these numbers and emails you if anything else is needed.

The only signature is the transfer authorization (letter of authorization), signed online from an email sent to the person named on the form; they have 30 days to sign. You follow the status in the app: waiting for signature, in review, sent to your current provider, accepted with a transfer date, moved. US numbers are moved automatically. The carriers set the date, so we do not promise a duration; the earliest date you can ask for is 8 days out.

If your current provider rejects the request, the app shows the reason: fix it and resubmit, or take a new number instead without paying again. Billing starts the day the transfer completes, and the free period extends automatically while the transfer is still running, so you never pay for a line that does not ring yet. When the number has moved, your menu goes live on it and we email you that you can now cancel your old provider.

Do not cancel your old service until we confirm the number has moved. It carries your calls until then, and a cancelled number can be lost for good.

Porting your existing number explains the US and Canadian rules and the usual reasons a port is rejected.
